find your voice, your spirit and your power in song
Have you ever been told that you
could not sing? Do you long to sing, but feel intimidated or
uncomfortable?
Are you a singer who feels “blocked,” and wants to rise to a new
challenge? Aileen Vance is an internationally recognized singer,
performer and songwriter with over 20 years teaching and performing
experience. She is passionate about singing and believes that ALL
of us have the right to do so. Her warm manner and teaching style
reflect both European Classical and Multi-cultural folk understandings
of vocal quality & production, tone, pitch, phrasing, breathing,
physical alignment & musicality, as well as her love of the
Alexander Technique (Aileen notes here: "I am not a certified
Alexander Technique teacher--but I ahve studied it and utilize it in my
teaching."). She is a member of American
Federation of Musicians, Children’s Music Network, Peoples Music
Network, and is a past recipient of the Kerrville Folk Festival’s “New
Folk” award for excellence in songwriting. She is also the music
director of the Santa Cruz
