Join us in our hunger relief efforts with a monetary or in-kind donation. As a community-based and -supported organization, we rely heavily on donations to fulfill our mission to feed and serve community members in need, and we truly appreciate your support. Every $1 you contribute provides 1.3 meals for community members in need. 

• Send monetary donations to us at 150 Second Street Watsonville CA 95076.
• Food donations can be delivered to Loaves and Fishes at 150 Second Street Watsonville between 9AM and 2PM. Please call in advance (831-722-4144).
• Needed non-food items - including clothing (for adults and children), shoes, sleeping bags, blankets, and small household items - can be delivered to Loaves and Fishes at 150 Second Street Watsonville between 9AM and 2PM. We will distribute these items to our clients.

Volunteer

Get actively involved in the fight against hunger in our community by sharing your time and talents with us.

• Kitchen - Help prepare and serve lunch.
• Pantry - Help stock the pantry and bag and distribute groceries.
• Facility Maintenance - Help with routine maintenance, yard work, and minor repair projects.

Board Service

Serve our community by sharing your professional expertise and community connections as a member of our Board of Directors.

We are currently seeking Board members who live in the Pajaro Valley and surrounding areas, particularly those who are well-connected within the Pajaro Valley community; are representative of the Latino community; and/or can offer legal, agribusiness, or fundraising expertise.

Holiday Activities

Help us make it a happier holiday for our neighbors in need.

• Thanksgiving Food Basket Distribution and Meal - Help register client households for the distribution, bag and distribute food baskets, and/or serve Thanksgiving lunch.
• Christmas Food and Toy Basket Distribution and Meal - Help register client households, bag and distribute food and toy baskets, and/or serve Christmas lunch.

We invite groups and families to assist us with our holiday activities.

Special Events

Our Empty Bowls - An Artful Dinner to Fight Hunger fundraiser is held in October. This event raises twenty percent of our annual operating budget and supports our hunger relief work throughout the year. Help us to make this dinner and auction event a success as a sponsor, donor, committee member, or volunteer.

• Support Empty Bowls with a sponsorship or donation from your business.
• Join the Empty Bowls Event Committee to assist with event planning and donation solicitation.
• Volunteer at the event - set-up, dinner service, clean-up.

We invite youth to assist us as servers / bussers for our Empty Bowls dinner. We provide hours completed letters for school community service requirements.

Advocate

To end hunger in our community and society, we must go beyond providing emergency food assistance to address the underlying causes of hunger. Join us in advocating for policies to end hunger and poverty.

• Contact our elected officials - by letter, phone, or email - to voice support for anti-hunger legislation.
• Participate in legislative visits to our elected officials, to urge them to support anti-hunger legislation.
• Participate in local and regional collaborative efforts to end hunger and improve community nutrition and health.
