Peter Loftus

Loftus is one of the few Santa Cruz artists who has been exhibiting at a major gallery in New York for the last 10 years. In this exhibition, large scale paintings, which monumentalize the rugged north coast between Pescadero and Santa Cruz, are contrasted with intimate paintings that record the everyday occurrences shared by those living in Santa Cruz. "The smaller scale works are views, so commonplace, we forget to appreciate their beauty," says Loftus.
