She first appeared as Sandra, the wife and step mother in Family Viewing. Tabbed by Egoyan to appear in Speaking Parts as Lisa, Gabrielle swapped roles with Arsinée Khanjian, and wound up playing the part of Clara, the screenwriter. She appeared as Mimi in The Adjuster, and as Dolores, the bus driver, in The Sweet Hereafter, for which she received a Genie nomination.
