Peter Mettler
“We live in a time where things do not seem to exist unless they have been captured in an image.”
—Commentary from Picture Of Light Source

The above quote sounds as if it might have come from the lips of Atom Egoyan himself, but actually comes from an early associate, Peter Mettler. The cimematographer for Atom's short film Open House, as well as Egoyan's first two features, Mettler went on to direct his own documentary work, Picture Of Light, released in 1994. In his movie, Mettler travels with a meteorologist to Churchill, Manitoba, to record the northern lights on film. The phenomenon of the aurora borealis is discussed from various perspectives, including science and myth.
