On Sunday, December 16, 2001, The Fiendish Thingies performed a tribute to George Harrison at Compact Disc Land in Palo Alto, CA. Unfortunately, the promoter chose to bill us as "The New Moondogs". Despite this, and very little rehearsal, and having a guy named Dennis show up to play keyboards at the last minute, it was an enjoyable, touching evening. The first set was just The Fiendish Thingies (plus Dennis) doing mostly acoustic George songs; for the Second set, Cyril Jordan of the Flamin' Groovies joined us on guitar and vocals on some of George's more rocking songs. |
