What is HF, VHF-Lo, VHF, UHF, or Microwave? (A basic description)

HF = 1.8-30 Mhz,
VHF-Lo = 29-54 Mhz,
(VHF Air Band = 112 - 140 Mhz)
VHF = 130-180 Mhz,
UHF = 400-512 (999) Mhz,
(UHF Air Band = 300 - 400 Mhz)
Microwave = 1000 Mhz or 1 Ghz (same thing) or Higher...

    Well, (deep subject, I know;=) radio spectrum is broken up into chunks. the first chunk is (~50 khz (or, kc)) ELF (Extremely Low Frequency), (~300 khz) LF, then (~10 Mhz (or Mc)) HF.  Next, (~40 Mhz) VHF-Lo (Vary High Frequency, Low (band) , (~150 Mhz) VHF, then (460 Mhz) UHF.  And finally, (higher than ~800 to 1000 Mhz) UUHF (rarely used), usually just called Microwave (above ~1000 Mhz/1 Ghz).  UHF is Ultra-HF, either way, these descriptions are from the old days (1950?), because, neither is Vary or Ultra!  And, kc and Mc (kilo (or Mega) cycles (also, kcps (per second); are all Vary old terms (1950?).

And, there is HAM frequencies through out, the radio spectrum...
