Bill Frist Sings
And we all thought that Orrin Hatch and John Ashcroft were the only Republican singer-songwriters in D.C.
Well, Bill Frist has joined the ranks with his version of Dion's hit "The Wanderer."
But Bill has revised the lyrics a wee bit and therefore the title. His
first public singing performance was at tonight's 'Devil
Impersonating-Palooza Crusade" in Louisville. No word if he was backed
by Ayatollahs James Dobson, Charles Colson, Tony Perkins (no, not
that one) and Albert Mohler.
Here goes:
"Oh well I'm the type of guy who will stir the shit around
Anywhere I can, where campaign donations can be found
I kiss 'em and I love 'em 'cause well, that's what you have to do
I hug 'em and I squeeze 'em and play them for financial fools
They call me the panderer, yeah I'm the panderer
I pander around around around around
Well, there's James on my left and Charles on my right
And Tony is the main squeeze that I'll be with tonight
And when he asks me which one of them I love the best
I tear open my shirt and I show Albert Mohlerl on my chest
'Cause I'm a panderer, yeah, I'm a panderer
I pander around around around around
Yep, I'm the type of guy who will do whatever it takes
Cause I want to become the prez even though I'm no great shakes
And when I find myself privately agreeing with the Democrats
I head on over to K Street and find me some financial fatcats
Oh, I'm a panderer, yeah, I'm a panderer
I pander around around around around..."
Now this could hit the charts,
blazing to the top with a bullet but Tom DeLay and Edwin Viera might
think that would be a waste of ammunition better reserved for Supreme
Court justices.
