Those F-16s Will Capture High-Flying Osama

Credit Dan Sneider in his March 27, 2005, San Jose Mercury News column for pointing out that the 'talk' by Pakistan and United States is not matching the actions of both countries. Here is a link to his column.

Especially egregarious is this quote from his column:
...The jets "are vital to Pakistan's security as President Musharraf prosecutes the war on terror," an administration official said.
And pigs fly.

Connecting Pakistan's security to F-16s and battling the war on terror is yet another lie from the Bush administration. Yet another fallacy skewering President Bush's presidential campaign doctrine that you may not always agree with him but you'll know where he stands.

As Sneider points out, Pakistan's request for F-16s is 15 years old and standing. The reason the 'order' has gone unfulfilled for so long is because F-16s can carry nuclear pay loads. Now Pakistan's surrounding neighbors, including India, will need to compensate and upgrade their respective air forces. And then Pakistan will need to go one better and the buildup continues.

Of course, now Pakistan will have the capability of shooting down Osama bin Laden as he flits about the Middle East skies in his luxury airliners.

Don't you feel safer?
