George Bush takes a leak and... A September 27, 2006 Los Angeles Times article by Peter Wallsten leads with the following: "President Bush on Tuesday accused unnamed people of leaking part of a classified intelligence report on Iraq as an act of political sabotage, intended to "create confusion in the minds of the American people" in advance of the November elections.Ah yes, it's the on-going and life-long I-don't-trust-facts-because-they-tend-to-muddy-the-water Bush tantrum raising its puerile head once again. Why doesn't Dubya just quote Stephen Colbert: "keep your facts, I'm going with truthiness." Or The Daily Show's Rob Corddry: "How does one report the facts in an unbiased way when the facts themselves are biased?...From the names of our fallen soldiers, to the gradual withdrawal of our allies, to the growing insurgency, it's become all too clear that facts in Iraq have an anti-Bush agenda." Maybe next time George Bush will threaten to hold his breath. That's age-appropriate for his continued childish gibberish. Now, George the Hypocrite certainly displays no hesitancy in employing leaks when he believes it will be favorable to him. Here is the opening of an April 6, 2006 Murray Waas-written National Journal article: "Vice President Dick Cheney's former chief of staff has testified that President Bush authorized him to disclose the contents of a highly classified intelligence assessment to the media to defend the Bush administration's decision to go to war with Iraq, according to papers filed in federal court on Wednesday by Patrick J. Fitzgerald, the special prosecutor in the CIA leak case. ......Isn't it curious George has no problem intending to "create confusion in the minds of the American people" with his lies, when such sabotage serves HIS political purpose? Isn't it curious George has no problem with HIS set of leakers outing a covert CIA agent, one who was working on WMD/Iran matters, when such traitorship serves HIS political purpose? Isn't it curious George has no problem issuing terror alerts when such phoniness serves HIS political purpose? One can only wonder if such is part of his plan to "restore honor and dignity to the White House." . top |
