It's All Over But The Counting, Howard Dean
On Monday, we will see so much, far
too much actually, laziness on the part of pundits who should and
actually could provide better. Unintentional synchronization will occur
as the vast majority of political commentators will regurgitate the
nothing-new fears and concerns of some about Howard Dean in his new
role. The 'scream' will be dusted off and displayed again and again and
agaiun. I say, dig deeper. It's certainly
proper to comment on Dean's moment of losing it the night of the Iowa
primaries and his lack of campaign discipline but is that truly all
there is about Howard Dean? What did he accomplish and support as
governor of Vermont? What are his strengths, along with his weaknesses?
Are his strong points a good match or not with the duties and
responsibilities of the position he is moving into? And is running as a
candidate in the presidential primaries in anyway comparable to being
DNC head? Will his best talents be an asset in the rebuilding of the
Democratic Party--why or why not? I'm not here to defend Howard Dean.
I'm here to ask that the pundits and bloggers remain silent unless they
have something fresh to say or maybe a new way to say it. Earn your
money, don't waste bandwidth. |
