Huckster Ralph Reed - Shucking and Jiving
Up to now, Ralph Reed has managed to keep his name out of the ever-burgeoning GOP political and evangelical muck.
But now it's looking like angelic-looking shiv specialist, now running for the lieutenant governor position in Georgia, has finally publicly tarnished himself with his coattail riding of Jack Abramson.
Just wait for more to ooze for this sordid tail.
Does this sound like Mr.Christian to you:
Ralph Reed, 6/21/05:
"Friday I spoke to Boys State, the American Legion leadership development program for young men…I urged them to get involved in the civic process [and] serve the public rather than special interests."***Why yes, you say.
Uh-oh. Contrast the above with this:
Ralph Reed, email to lobbyist Jack Abramoff, 1998:
"Hey, now that I’m done with the electoral politics, I need to start humping in corporate accounts! I’m counting on you to help me with some contacts."***Oh, you say Ralph just changed his mind because the people of Georgia need his inspirational leadership. How selfless of him.
Can you explain humping? Is that a quaint Southern term meaning something different than what it describes?
Does the 11th Commandment (you know, the one that didn't make it on the tablets due to space problems) really specify that selling one's soul and putting one's ethics and values up for bid is the Christian GOP equivalent of a Muslim's haj to Mecca?
That explains a lot.
