It's Gotta Give You Confidence
You
know, we will be greeted as liberators. There is absolutely no need for
200,000 U.S. troops in Iraq. The war will pay for itself with Iraqi
oil. It (the war) could last six days, six weeks, I doubt six months. The insurgency is in its last throes.
Keep on spouting off, Bush Boys. Odds are you're finally going to get one right.
It's obvious that loyalty to his buddies is more important to President
Bush than competency. Sadly, more important than the lives lost and the ones to be lost.
Now, we get Karl Rove's predetermined statement: "...Conservatives saw
the savagery of 9/11 in the attacks and prepared for war..."
Right.
Chris Bowers at MyDD.com skewers this further attempt at reality-bending with:
- Conservatives prepared for our troops to not have the equipment they need.
- Conservatives prepared for 192 American troops to die in Afghanistan.
- Conservatives prepared for 1,734 American troops to die in Iraq
- Conservatives prepared for 13,000 American soldiers to be wounded in Iraq.
- Conservatives prepared for the Army to fall well behind its recruitment goals
- Conservatives prepared for 2,421 Iraqi Security Personnel to be killed
- Conservatives prepared for
Iraqi Security forces training to regularly be below 50% of its goal,
and to regularly push back the target date for the completion of such
training.
- Conservatives prepared to reduce our military readiness
- Conservatives were preparing for the death of over 22,500 Iraqi civilians.
- Conservatives prepared for torture to become legal.
- Conservatives prepared for
Osama bin Laden to still be at large 1,380 days after the attacks on
September 11th, which is greater than the amount of time it took the
U.S. to defeat Japan after the attacks on Pearl Harbor (1,365 days).
- Conservatives prepared for the Iraqi insurgency to quintuple in size.
- Conservatives prepared for more people to die of terrorists attacks than ever before in 2003, and then to discontinue counting.
- Conservatives prepared for there to be no WMD's.
- Conservatives prepared for 245 contractors to be killed in Iraq.
- Conservatives prepared for more than 70% of reconstruction funs to be diverted to security.
- Conservatives prepared for there to be no timetable for an exit from Iraq.
Your response, Mr. Rove?
Better yet, your response, television networks and newspaper editorial boards?
C'mon, even the fig leaf has finally shrunk to invisibility for this proverbial emperor and empire with no clothes.
