Joe Lieberman -- made member of the GOP
Joe Lieberman epitomizes the worst in politicians. He is
the type of pervert who willfully uses our soldiers as a public
relations backdrop while he plays Mr. Rogers and sings "It's a
Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood." He isn't interested in pursuing the
truth--that serves no purpose for him. If others have to do or be
maimed so he can continue to fly in, perform his photo-ops, while
willfully ignoring reality, well, so be it. And Joe, go ahead with your
cut-and-run threats to bolt to the GOP. You became an honorary 'made'
member of the Republican Party with your pathetic and somnolent debate
appearance against Dick Cheney in 1999.
Lieberman did it again recently on yet another 'fact-finding' mission to Iraq:
Lieberman talks to troops in Baghdad

BAGHDAD, Iraq - Spc. David Williams, 22, of Boston,
Mass., had two note cards in his pocket Wednesday afternoon as he
waited for Sen. Joseph Lieberman. Williams serves in the 82nd Airborne
Division from Fort Bragg, N.C., the first of the five "surge" brigades
to arrive in Iraq, and he was chosen to join the Independent from
Connecticut for lunch at a U.S. field base in Baghdad.
The night before, 30 other soldiers crowded around him with questions for the senator.
He wrote them all down. At the top of his note card was the question he got from nearly every one of his fellow soldiers:
"When are we going to get out of here?"
The rest was a laundry list. When would they have upgraded
Humvees that could withstand the armor-penetrating weapons that U.S.
officials claim are from Iran? When could they have body armor that was
better in hot weather?
Here's the link to the remainder of the article:
So for Joe's happiness and, after all, that's what really matters, in unison, let's all pretend that we are in Baghdad:
It's a beautiful day in this neighborhood,
A beautiful day for a neighbor,
Would you be mine? Could you be mine?
It's a neighborly day in this beautywood,
A neighborly day for a beauty,
Would you be mine? Could you be mine?
I have always wanted to have a neighbor just like you,
I've always wanted to live in a neighborhood with you.
So let's make the most of this beautiful day,
Since we're together, we might as well say,
Would you be mine? Could you be mine?
Won't you be my neighbor?
Won't you please, won't you please,
Please won't you be my neighbor?
However, we have a suggestion, something Lieberman should not only hear
but memorize. Let's all sing another Mr. Rogers song -- "Look and
Listen"-- to Senator Lieberman:
If you will look carefully,
Listen carefully,
You will find a lot of things carefully.
Look ... and listen.
It's good to
Look carefully.
Listen carefully.
That's the way you learn a lot of things carefully.
Look. Look...and listen.
Some things you see are confusing.
Some things you hear are strange.
But if you ask someone to explain one or two,
You'll begin to notice a change in you.
If you will
Look carefully.
Listen carefully.
That's a way to keep on growing carefully.
Look, look, look, and listen.
