Kevin Shelley Gets His Just Desserts

Yes, I am a Democrat. (didn't I start another blog entry just like this not too long ago?) But I am a human being first before any other affiliation and doing right comes first and foremost. Hear the partisan knee-jerkers of all varieties gagging in the background?

San Franciscan Kevin Shelley did right by resigning as California Secretary of State but he certainly did wrong, far too often, prior to departing. Plus, his resignation was not some noble act--he knew the 'facts' were closing in on him and the reality was that only one dignified avenue, resignation, remained open to him.

He is being investigated for misuse of Help America Vote Act funds and was recently judged by the California State Personnel Board as having created a hostile work environment in his office. He still may face indictment on the former.

I should be more concerned with his unacceptable and illegal political use of what were supposed to be non-partisan funds to get out the vote but I actually have more anger for his barbaric behavior towards his employees. Abusing lower level staff is unpardonable.

You have a personal defect Mr. Shelley. If you are serious about changing your inappropriate behavior and becoming a better person, then make amends to those you have injured, ask for their forgiveness and get help.

Ambition can be useful and good but not when it becomes the blinding force behind all decisions and interactions.

Kevin Shelley meet Chuck Quackenbush, a disgraced Republican California Insurance Commissioner. The Karma Twins.
