Damn you Karl Rove

Just when I thought I was done with Karl Rove, at least for a while, he pulls me back in again.

Documentation of his 'fingerprints' are appearing more and more in various circumstances and it sure seems like he will have some explaining to do.

In the following, a Bush-appointed United States attorney in Milwaukee found no evidence of voting wrongdoing and therefore no need for any indictment but that wasn't satisfactory enough for the head of the state GOP. So he had a report prepared to hand to none other than Karl Rove.
State GOP official pushed vote fraud issue

The mystery is solved.

For weeks, it was unclear who whined to the White House last year that not enough voter fraud cases were being prosecuted in Milwaukee.

Now we know.

The state Republican Party went straight to the top in its efforts to make voter fraud an issue in Wisconsin.

Sources tell No Quarter that Rick Wiley, then the executive director of the state GOP, directed a staffer in 2005 to prepare a 30-page report on election abuses in Wisconsin so Wiley could pass it along to a top White House official.

That document, entitled "Fraud in Wisconsin 2004: A Timeline/Summary," turned up last week in the horde of White House and U.S. Justice Department records released by the House Judiciary Committee, which is investigating the firing of eight U.S. attorneys.

"The report was prepared for Karl Rove," said a source with knowledge of the situation. "Rick wanted it so he could give it to Karl Rove."

Yeah, that Karl Rove, President Bush's political mastermind and his deputy chief of staff.

The same guy who was knee-deep in helping decide which U.S. attorneys to keep or to boot.

Go here for the rest.

The other situation revolves around the firing of the eight U.S. Attorneys. Non-government email accounts and like communication devices were apparently used during some of the interactions on these matters--which appears inappropriate.

Do read the entire article below and you'll notice Rove is involved as is his staff.
GOP-issued laptops now a White House headache

Democrats say a private e-mail system was used in violation of federal rules.

WASHINGTON When Karl Rove and his top deputies arrived at the White House in 2001, the Republican National Committee provided them with laptop computers and other communication devices to be used alongside their government-issued equipment.

The back-channel e-mail and paging system, paid for and maintained by the RNC, was designed to avoid charges that had vexed the Clinton White House that federal resources were being used inappropriately for political campaign purposes.

Now, that dual computer system is creating new embarrassment and legal headaches for the White House, the Republican Party and Rove's once-vaunted White House operation.

Democrats say evidence suggests the RNC e-mail system was used for political and government policy matters in violation of federal record preservation and disclosure rules.

In addition, Democrats point to a handful of e-mails obtained through ongoing inquiries suggesting the system may have been used to conceal such activities as contacts with lobbyist Jack Abramoff, who was convicted on bribery charges and is now in prison for fraud.

There is a distinct gathering of greater and greater Karl Rove-related smoke with these various intertwining activities.

Karl Rove is the major domo anthing-that-is-even-remotely-related-to-elections match holder in The White House. He lights any and all fires. An opportunity to get his under-oath testimony on all the concerns connected to him should be quite revealing. Must-see tv and it couldn't happen to a more deserving deviant.
