That Damn Liberal Media Again & Again & Again...

When are at least a few of the media's 'seasoned pros' going to wise up, shake off their lethargy and quit allowing themselves to spun like a top?

I'm waiting.

Democratic National Committee Chair Howard Dean gets quoted that Republicans could stand in eight-hour lines to vote ''because a lot of them have never made an honest living in their lives.''

Splashed all over the various media, this induced John Edwards and Joe Biden to distance themselves from Dean's sentiment.

What unfortunately hasn't been plastered across radio, television and the internet is the context of Dean's remarks. He stated that certain precincts in Florida were so backed up that voters were forced to wait up to eight hours to cast a ballot and that this situation was a hardship for people who ''work all day and then pick up their kids at child care.''

Oh me. What to do, what to do? Do I go for the quick and easy 'gotcha' and run with Dean's impugning of Republicans or look at the larger picture and maybe, just maybe do a story contrasting the current administration's cry for liberty, democracy and voting rights abroad with impediments erected to discourage American voters? Well, I only have three minutes of air time so...

Or how about a story, any story on Republican National Committee chair Ken Mehlman's blantant lying on the June 5 Meet The Press show, as caught by MediaMatter.org.

Mehlman stated that the Downing Street Memo, which contained a passage about intelligence and facts being fixed around policy, had been 'totally discredited by everyone who's looked at it."

Not so, Kenny Boy. Oops, I guess that's reserved for Ken Lay.

If Tim Russert wasn't aware of this fabrication, well, he needs to read his hometown newspaper a little closer or go online more than he obviously is doing.

Tim, I bet that even Big Russ caught that big whopper?
