THE ILLUSIONISTS by John Negroponte Thumbs way up!!!! --- Roger Herbert Four bright and shiny stars!!! --- David Arsen Don't give away the ending! --- Gene Scallop The truth will set you free! -- Anonymous Watch L. Paul Bremer dispatch millions of dollars, soon to be heading to untraceable Swiss bank accounts. View journalists, hunkered down in the Green Zone and unable to cover the on-going war, decide whether or not to report 'information' provided to them by Pentagon handlers. Trace the routes of jihadists pouring past unguarded Iraqi borders. See insurgents collect armaments in broad daylight from unsecured, pick-your-own ammo dumps. Catch U.S. soldiers improvise personal and vehicle armor with garbage can lids while the Pentagon civilian elite fly in to Baghdad to give rah rah speeches and then immediately split for the safety of Kuwait. Yes, The Illusionists, by executive producer John Negroponte, he of Central America infamy, is one to savor. Negroponte actually deserves credit for admitting the fallacy that is Iraq but sadly, it's tempered because he chose to only privately air what he knows is the reality. (Negroponte's discreteness about Iraq paid off as he has since been promoted to National Intelligence Director) The following is yet another example of the Bush Administration's chosen lies about the situation in Iraq, the chosen lies that lead to the deaths of more and more civilians and military personel, the chosen lies that are fiscally and morally bankrupting this nation. Exchanging human life for votes and political support is simply craven. Even more so for a professed Christian such as George W. Bush, our very own coal shoveler for Satan.
