Watch Out Ann Coulter--Pat Robertson's Angling For The Next Cover Of TIME
Yes, Ayatollah Robertson has been at it yet again, issuing yet another in his long string of fatwas. But will it be enough? Can he nudge Ann Coulter out of first place and get his own cover shot on TIME?
The prognosis: jealousy can be very unattractive Pat, and you just don't have Coulter's legs. Even with your history, you'll have to do better (worse?) than your latest salvo.

Federal judges are a more serious threat to America than Al Qaeda and the Sept. 11 terrorists, the Rev. Pat Robertson claimed yesterday.
"Over 100 years, I think the gradual erosion of the consensus that's held our country together is probably more serious than a few bearded terrorists who fly into buildings," Robertson said on ABC's "This Week with George Stephanopoulos."
"I think we have controlled Al Qaeda," the 700 Club host said, but warned of "erosion at home" and said judges were creating a "tyranny of oligarchy."
Confronted by Stephanopoulos on his claims that an out-of-control liberal judiciary is the worst threat America has faced in 400 years - worse than Nazi Germany, Japan and the Civil War - Robertson didn't back down.
"Yes, I really believe that," he said. "I think they are destroying the fabric that holds our nation together."
Consider his past cozy relationship with former Liberia dictator and (key point here) professed Baptist, Samuel Taylor. Indicted as a war criminal for the atrocities his troops inflicted on his own civilians and those of Sierra Leone during wartime, Taylor granted Robertson permission to invest in a lucrative Liberia gold mining venture (key point here).
Robertson also became pals with another African butcher, the late Mobutu Sese Sako of diamond-rich Zaire.
For some the tipping point is 30 pieces of silver--Robertson's must be diamonds.
After apparently not recalling the bodycount of the innocent during the Christian Crusades (oh, those were the 'good' terrorists), on November 11, 2002, he coyly lambasted an entire religion (Islam) and its complete set of practioners on his '700 Club' television show:
"...if I say something that Islam is an erroneous religion, I get criticized by the Anti-Defamation League. You just say, when are you guys going to open your eyes and see who your enemy is? Those people want to destroy Jews. The Koran teaches that the end of the world will not come until every Jew is killed by the Muslims. The Muslims must eliminate every single Jew before there will be a final conclusion of this world and the next kingdom comes into being..."And then Mr. Oblivious further pontificated about the content of The Koran:
"This is not exactly conducive to peace and brotherhood."Huh?
Tag-teaming with Mullah Jerry Falwell, Robertson declared the 9/11 acts of terrorism came to be because this country had insulted God "at the highest levels of our government" through rampant secularism, pornography and abortion. On September 13, 2001, Robertson stated:
"God Almighty...lifted his protection from us."Not to be overshadowed, Falwell piped in with:
"I really believe that the pagans, and the abortionists, and the feminists, and the gays and the lesbians who are actively trying to make that an alternative lifestyle...all of them who have tried to secularize America. I point the finger in their face and say 'you helped this happen'."Robertson later added in a statement:
"...We have imagined ourselves invulnerable and have been consumed by the pursuit of...health, wealth, material pleasures and sexuality (my editorial: what, no word about diamond collecting?)...terrorism is happening because God Almighty is lifting his protection from us..."C'mon Pat, is the latest really your best effort? Get cracking or your loathsomeness quotient will be in a freefall.
But you'd best watch out Ann Coulter--word is that Robertson is seriously thinking of upping the ante--he just might shave his legs to get that cover shot.
