It is time to move on

It is time to move on and calling it quits here is a necessary step. More and more, I find myself not having the time to update and add to my blog here. This even though a bevy of subjects and ideas still pass through my mind on a daily basis. My other writing projects and assignments are demanding more and more of my attention and orphaning my 'baby' here is a must. It's been wonderful and educational as well as cheap therapy.

Maybe a return will occur somewhere down the line. But for now, it's blogus interruptus for the forseeable future -- until I can't stand it any longer.

    Thanks.

Argentinean General Videla (now under house arrest), paraphrased by Christopher Hitchens: those (the desaparecidos) who attacked "Western and Christian" way of life with spoken words and written articles were often more dangerous than bombers.

Kevin (Cogitator) McCarthy: The Republican Party has been taken over by an amoral cabal that believe in nothing. These morality-parading deviates have but one word that they live by: whatever. Whatever it takes to succeed, whatever is needed to savage those who disagree. These are not patriots, they are vile, self-serving aberrations who foment divisiveness. They swear by separatism and villification. To them, knowledge, truth and principles are of no use, in fact. they are perversions that only hinder. The motto of these velvet glove terrorists: death by a thousand cuts.

Rob Corddry, The Daily Show: "
How does one report the facts in an unbiased way when the facts themselves are biased?...From the names of our fallen soldiers, to the gradual withdrawal of our allies, to the growing insurgency, it's become all too clear that facts in Iraq have an anti-Bush agenda."

Stephen Colbert, The Colbert Report: "Keep your facts--I'm going with truthiness."

President Bush, addressing the nation ('reported' by I Cogitate): "
But that Patrick Fitzgerald, now there's a weapon of mass destruction. Hooeee. Gotta take him out sooner rather than later. We's currently fixin' up facts, drawin' up papers and developin' film of him buyin' a yellow cake. That cinched it for me. He's up to no good. Can't afford to wait til a cloud of mushrooms appear. Bombing of him commences in one hour."

Jackson Brown, from his song, "The Rebel Jesus": In a life of hardship and of earthly toil, we have the need for anything that frees us, so I bid you pleasure and I bid you cheer, from a heathen and a pagan, on the side of the rebel Jesus."

Martin Luther King, closing his speech in Memphis the night before his death: "Well, I don't know what will happen now. We've got some difficult days ahead But it doesn't matter with me now. Because I've been to the mountaintop. And I don't mind. Like anybody, I would like to live a long life. Longevity has its place. But I'm not concerned about that now. I just want to do God's will. And He's allowed me to go up to the mountain. And I've looked over. And I've seen the promised land. I may not get there with you. But I want you to know tonight, that we, as a people, will get to the promised land. And I'm happy, tonight. I'm not worried about anything. I'm not fearing any man. Mine eyes have seen the glory of the coming of the Lord."
