General RSS Information

Really Simple Syndication (RSS) is an XML-based format for content distribution. Each of my RSS feeds includes a headline, summary description of an article, and a link back to the full article. RSS feeds are free.

There are a number of ways to access RSS feeds. You can install a dedicated news reader that displays RSS feeds from the Web sites you select, enabling you to view hundreds of headlines at once. After installing the news reader, you can add each feed manually from the Web site by clicking on the "Subscribe" or "XML" or "RSS" link or orange button next to the feed.

An alternative to downloading a dedicated news reader is to use a Web-based news reader. For more information about RSS, these are two useful articles: here and here.

My RSS feeds are best viewed with an RSS feed reader that supports the Microsoft .NET 2.0 Framework. You can obtain the Microsoft .NET 2.0 Framework from Microsoft's windows update web site.

Click on this orange button here, or the link on my home page and follow your RSS feed reader´s instructions to add my RSS feed (http://members.cruzio.com/~celticfolkmusic/rss/rssfeed.xml) to your RSS reader. This URL contains the default XML description of my RSS feed.

Terms for using my RSS Feeds

I encourage your use of my (I Cogitate's) RSS feeds for personal use in a news reader or as part of a non-commercial Web site or blog. However, I require proper format and attribution whenever my (I Cogitate´s) content is posted on your Web site ("Site"), and I reserve the right to require that you cease distributing my content. Please read the following Terms and Conditions for complete instructions.

By downloading a RSS feed (the "Service") from my Web site (http://members.cruzio.com/~celticfolkmusic/), you are consenting to be bound by this "Agreement". If you do not agree to all of the terms of this Agreement, do not download the Service. Your use of the Service will constitute a binding acceptance of the terms of this Agreement.

1. GRANT. Subject to the terms of this Agreement and, unless otherwise consented to by me (I Cogitate), I hereby grant you, during the Term, a revocable, nontransferable, nonsublicensable, royalty-free, nonexclusive license to display on your Web site the headlines, active links, or other source identifiers, and other information or materials that you specifically select to receive from the Service. I may restrict, suspend or terminate your access to any aspect or all of the Service at any time without liability. I reserve the right to modify the Service at any time within my sole discretion. 

2. RESTRICTIONS. Except as expressly set forth in Section 1 and/or unless otherwise consented to by me (I Cogitate), you may not, directly or indirectly: (a) sell, modify, translate, copy, publish, transmit, distribute or otherwise disseminate the Service or any portion thereof; (b) rent, lease, or otherwise transfer rights to the Service; (c) display the name or other identifier of another person (except for me, I Cogitate) on your Site in such a manner as to give the viewer the impression that such other person is a publisher or distributor of the Service on the Site; (d) remove, conceal or obliterate any copyright or other proprietary notice or any credit-line or date-line on other mark or source identifier included on the Service, including without limitation, the size, color, location or style of my content and marks; or (e) use the Service on any Site that contains nudity or pornographic material of any kind, displays material that exploits children under the age of 18 promotes or provides instructional information about illegal activities or physical harm or injury against any group or individual, or use the Service in any manner that is obscene, defamatory, libelous, invasive of personal privacy or misleading.

Unless otherwise permitted by me (I Cogitate), you will: (i) display the Service on your Site in the exact form received by you, and not modify or edit any of the foregoing without my (I Cogitate's) prior written consent; (ii) ensure that the fundamental meaning of the Service is not changed or distorted; (iii) comply with all applicable laws and all limitations and restrictions (if any) placed by me (I Cogitate) on the use, display or distribution of any Service ("Usage Restrictions"); and (iv) not archive any of the Service for access by users at any future date after the Service has been removed from your Web site. You acknowledge that the service must link and redirect to the appropriate I Cogitate Web page on my Site when a user clicks on the Service (e.g. a headline). You shall not display the Service in such a manner that does not allow for successful linking and redirection to, and delivery of, my (I Cogitate's) Web page, nor may you frame any of my (I Cogitate's) Web pages. You must always stipulate that the Service is supplied byme, I Cogitate, and is protected by copyright and owned by me, I Cogitate.

3. LIMITATION OF LIABILITY. I (I Cogitate) shall not be liable to you or any other person for any indirect, special, incidental or consequential damages of any kind including, without limitation, damages for lost profits, loss of goodwill, work stoppage, accuracy of services, content or results, computer failure or malfunction, damages resulting from disabling of the Service ,or any and all other commercial damages or losses. In addition, I (I Cogitate) assume no liability for your activity in connection with the Services and the Service or for the development, operation, and maintenance of your Site. Any fraudulent, abusive, or otherwise illegal activity will be grounds for termination of this Agreement.

4. TERMINATION. Unless otherwise agreed to by me (I Cogitate), you may terminate this Agreement and the license granted herein at any time by destroying or removing all copies of the Service from your Site, all hard drives, networks, and other storage media. Unless otherwise agreed to by me (I Cogitate), I (I Cogitate) may restrict, suspend or terminate the Service, this Agreement, the license granted herein, or your access to any aspect or all of the Service at any time without liability. You agree to destroy or return to I Cogitate all copies of the Service and all Proprietary Information promptly upon learning of such Termination. Sections 2 through 4 shall survive termination of this Agreement.
