ALERT!
Ramsey Gulch Under Attack Again!
Redwood
Empire is back to plunder more of the Ramsey Gulch forest, with
the help of the CA Department of Forestry, which approved the plan
over the objections of Santa Cruz County, the Watsonville Water
Board, and the Department of Fish & Game.
Ready to greet the chainsaws and bulldozers with compassion
and steadfast commitment to the forest, Earth First! activists are
once again occupying the upper canopy of redwoods and douglas firs
on the steep, erosive slopes of Ramsey Gulch. To sustain the Ramsey
II tree-sit village, we need your help whether by climbing
up to sit in a platform, hiking in supplies to tree-sitting ewoks,
or by donating money, food, climbing gear, or other crucial forest
defense components. Every little bit helps together we can
topple Redwood Empire before it topples the last of the towering
trees of our beloved Santa Cruz mountains.

Santa
Cruz Earth First! Action Update - Ramsey 2 Treesit Starts Against
Redwood Empire
A tree-village has been established in the Ramsey
2 Timber Harvest Plan (THP) in southeastern Santa Cruz county in
California. Located at the southern end of the contiguous Coastal
Redwood belt that stretches south from Oregon, the treesits, called
Critter and Free, were setup on Friday, the 16th of August by activists
with Santa Cruz Earth First! (SCEF!) This area has been the scene
of some of the worst logging in recent Santa Cruz county history
and two years ago was the site of the first treesit in the county...
