Six slab Mug Assignment

The purpose of this assignment is to again experiment with different techniques of working with clay, but this time you will be using slabs which are flat pieces of clay. You are to make Six slab mugs and your mugs must meet the following requirements.

• All mugs must be at least five inches tall and not be made from the smallest diameter pipe.
• One mug must be textured using one of the texture mats
• One mug must be personalized meaning it has a persons name on it
• One Mug must have press mold decoration used to enhance your mug design
• One mug must have some sort of engobe design
• Two Mugs must be a matching set.

Handle requirements

For your handles I also want you to experiment with various techniques and you will need to include all of the following handles.

• One handle must be pulled
• One handle must be textured
• One handle must be cut from a slab
• One handel shaped like a figure or animal
• Two handles of your choice meaning come up with your own design or repeat the technique on two mugs
