Mug / Chalice Rubric

5.

You have completed all of your mugs and none of them have cracks or things falling off of them. Their handles are well attached, are the correct size for the mug and add to the beauty of the mug. The mugs are not too heavy for their size.

Your mug about yourself makes a clear statement about you by only using symbols and it is easy to understand. When another person looks at it from class they know what you are trying to convey.

Your mug about a staff member captures their personality through its design and decoration.

You experimented with various handles.

Your chalice or mug clearly documents an event in history or a personal event which happened in your family.

You used many three dimensional objects to enhance your design on all of your mugs.

You are very proud of your work and would be willing to display any of  them to the school or comunity.

You are happy to give the mug about a GHS staff member to them and know they will be happy to get it.

4.

You have completed all of your mugs, but you know you could have done a bit better.

You were truly committed to this assignment and had some good ideas, but they just didn't come out how you intended.

The fabrication of your projects came out well, but your ideas are not as clear as they could be.The symbols are pretty good , but they don't always add to the theme of the project or really express you.

All your handles look good and are attached well.

You might want to display some of your mugs, but not all of them.

3.

You did two out of the three mugs that you needed to do for your final.

One of your mugs might have a slight blemish,a rough edge or one of the handles could have a small crack.

One of your handles doesn't look as good as it could.

One of your mugs isn't as clear as it could be. The symbols are not really conveying your ideas. When you showed it to another person in class, they couldn't understand what you were trying to express ( you had to do a lot of explaining )

You could have had more three dimensional forms on your projects.

There is possibly one mug which could be displayed or the mug for the GHS staff is ready to be given to the person you have chosen.

2.

You only got one of the three mugs completed, but it is of good quality and meets the assignment.

You rushed the assignment and really didn't put much effort into your work.

None of your added elements are three dimensional.

You should probably start at least one of your mugs again, but you have decided that this is all the effort you are going to put towards this assignment.

1.

You are not finished with this assignment.

The quality of your work has much to be desired.

There are cracks and chips, handles are coming off, and your images are very confusing, or they are falling off.

You know you should start again, but really don't care about your grade.
