Container Rubric

5.

Your container has a very unique shape that no one else thought of. It is perfectly constructed so all the sides are smooth and even. When you place the top on the container it fits well and when you take the lid off it is a separate container of equal quality. You challenged yourself and made a difficult shape instead of simply satisfying the basic assignment. Your container is not to heavy and all parts are smooth and even without any cracks or flaws.  The seems are well put together so it holds together. You plan to glaze it and take it home or give it to someone you care about. YouŐre proud of your work and would like to display it in the Library so the entire school can see your efforts.

4.

Your container has a shape which is nice although it isn't exactly unique or something that is one of a kind. It is complete, but rather a simple design. You like the way it looks but know you could have done a bit better. The lid fits, but it could have been made a bit better so it is a better fit. The sides are all nice and smooth and you have detailed your project as much as possible so it looks good. You are happy with your work and plan to glaze it and take it home. You could be persuaded to display it in the Library although you would have to be asked.

3.

You have constructed a container that meets the requirements of the assignment, but that is basically it. Other students are doing the same shape or you actually copied someone in class. Your container is together, but it could have been constructed a bit better. Some of the sides are a bit crooked or not even. The lid fits, but it slides around a lot on the top of the container or there are a few gaps at the seems which make the lid not fit evenly. Some of the walls of the container are a bit thick or not all the edges are holding together well. You still plan to fire it because you are happy with it, but know it is not exactly up to the high standards expected of you.

2.

Your container is not constructed well and the shape is very common. You threw your container together and just did it to get some kind of a grade, but you aren't expecting a good grade. Your lid isnŐt really a container. It has cracks at the seems and is kind of falling apart. Your container is a square, rectangle or a circle. You don't plan to fire it  and will be glad when this assignment is over.

1.

You started a container, but you did not finish it. You made the bottom, but not the top. Some sides are missing or it doesn't even go together. You know you should not get credit for your work because you didnŐt even try.
