Ocarina Rubric

5.

Your ocarina works well and you made it completely on your own. When you play it it has four distinct notes from the holes you put in it. You kept adjusting the ocarina until it made  tunes, and you did not have another student or Mr. Twist work on adjusting it so it would make its sounds. You possibly helped others adjust and tune their ocarinas besides making your own. It has a good shape for the animal or creature you were trying to make and it looks convincing as the animal you were trying to make. You possibly painted it to make it look more like the animal you were trying to make. It is well constructed meaning it is not to heavy, there are no rough areas, if you painted it,it was done neatly so it improves the way it looks. You are proud of your creation, will have it fired, and plan to keep it or give it to a friend.

4.

Your ocarina works, but you had to get help from Mr. Twist or another student to get it to work.It doesnÕt make four distinct sounds because the holes you put in it are not quite correct.  You were not persistent enough to keep tuning it on your own until it made distinct sounds. You were successful with the design, but it could have been detailed a bit more so it looks like the animal you were trying to make . It is well constructed so it is not to heavy.. You will fire it and keep it or give it to someone you care about.

3.

You made a animal or creature which is a whistle, not an ocarina . Your whistle works, but only makes one sound. You made it whistle without any help from Mr. Twist or another student.  You have made your whistle into an animal and the animal looks convincing. You have added detail and built  things out to make it look realistic. You are happy with the results of your efforts even though you did not make an ocarina.

2.

You made a whistle, but it really wasnÕt a quality project. It does not make a sound or the sound it makes is not very strong. You put a couple of things on it to try to make an animal, but you can tell when you look at it that it wasnÕt done with much thought and it truly is not convincing as the animal you were trying to make. It is possibly a bit heavy, it is rough in areas and it is not pleasing to look at or fun to try to play. You are not really proud of it, and more than likely you will not fire it.

1.

You attempted to make a whistle, but did not complete the assignment or you made the shape, but did not make it into an animal.
