For some reason when an band opens their album with a Black Sabbath cover I begin to question their creditability as a ska band, well at least one that I can take seriously. That is exactly what Ruder Than You has done on their (enter # release) Not only was the cover a pathetic cry for psychological help their musical capabilities didn’t carry the tune through on a stround note. The follow up track is appears to be some fusion of rap, eighties pop, and a beaten down, kicked in the head, and spat on form of ska. The vocals on most of the tracks take a comical approach and it isn’t until the "Swarta," an instrumental I, might add, that this CD had any redeeming value whatsoever. On this song I actually began to lose a little of my bitterness, and couldn't’t help but groove to this tune, it had rolling tone that broke up the album nicely. When my CD player made the change to the next track the sweet after taste of the melodic instrumental left behind in my ears was interrupted by "Skahall Connection." A blatantly metal influenced song, "Skahall..." became annoying with lyrics that appeared to have no point, and a musical plot that was just painful to listen to. Greatfully my ears accepted the tonage of the next track, entitled "No Way Out." This was another shamfully beautiful song until the lyricist ruined it when he bagan ranting about wanting to ‘shout cause there is no way out." The following three tracks followed the same pattern where the instrumental was capable and the others were consistantly bad.
