We rented a cottage on the beach in Hanalei -- Paniolo. We first discovered the cottage when Packy rented it for his 50th birthday party. We thought it would be an excellent place to vacation and were lucky to get it for these 9 days. If you want to rent it for 2007, you are too late. When we checked, the only availability was for 10 days in the beginning of March. We were hoping to go a little later.

As an interesting aside: Bob McKnight of Quiksilver fame must have been equally impressed as we were when he was at Packy's birthday party. But instead of renting the house, he bought the lot next door. He didn't get the house on the lot (they moved it), but is building his own. On our last day there, the contractor was measuring in order to start building. He told us it was going to take two years to complete!
