Western Workers Labor Heritage Festival

The Western Workers Labor Heritage Festival is held annually on the weekend preceding Martin Luther King Day in Northern California. The goals of the Festival are to help build the labor movement through the artistic expression of working people and to honor Dr, King for his commitment to workers' rights. Each year union members and supporters gather for workshops and performances celebrating labor culture. The festivities conclude with a Benefit Concert with proceeds going to workers in need (thusfar these concerts have generated over $25,000 which have gone to groups such as striking cannery workers in Watsonville and striking Pittston miners).
