The Courthouse Ramblers are
keeping bluegrass music alive in the Monterey Bay area with a
repertoire of traditional folk, mountain and old-time country
favorites. Formed in 1998 at the Monterey County Courthouse in
Salinas, the Ramblers include Randy Lent on mandolin, Darryl
Cornell on guitar, Keith Hayes on bass, John Woolfolk on banjo,
and Peter Hicks on fiddle. They play in the traditional style
popularized in the 1940s and 1950s by such legends as Bill
Monroe, Flatt & Scruggs, The Stanley Brothers, Reno &
Smiley, Jim & Jesse and others.
