Gregorian Chant

The Saint Cecilia Society for the Preservation of Gregorian Chant was started in Santa Cruz in 1974. It now comprises 11 men who meet weekly in two groups, one in Santa Cruz and the other in San Francisco. The chants are sung in unison in Latin using the old four-line staff notation used at Solesmes. The group performs on rare occasions.
