Roger, with sisters Laura and Andrea at Tahoe family reunion

Getting giggly in Philly with parents

Both of our families are big, diverse and spread all over the globe. Catherine was raised in a small northern English town, part of a large family of Irish Catholic descent. She is the youngest of five children and the only girl. Roger grew up in a Jewish household in suburban San Diego. He is the youngest of four, sharing that distinction with his twin sister, Laura. Although our families are far flung, we keep in close contact, never missing a chance to see each other and spend much of our vacation time traveling to all the great places our families have chosen to live. Combined we have twelve nieces and nephews and our families are excited to meet the newest arrival and fully support our decision to adopt. Both of our parents have been married for over 40 years, and Roger’s grandparents have been together for 68 years and are still going strong. We’ve been a couple for twelve years, married for the last four, and expect the same longevity in our relationship. It is this kind of security and stability we hope to pass on to our child.
