The
Interactive Cook House now has teleports to the outside map area and to
the upstairs orientation library. These are in the form of blue signs next
to the door. Visitors can walk up the stairs or teleport right up. |

Four large walls
of the Interactive Cook House are organized as "theme walls"
which contain links to important UCSC online pages. They are organized
non-linearly in an image-map fashion. At the very top of the stairs, visitors
face the Online
Admissions with links to Undergraduate
admissions, graduate
admissions, the Office of the Registrar,
Course Catalog, Schedule
of Classes, "The
Navigator" campus handbook, Academic
Calendar and Financial
Aid.

Photos
of the colleges are along the shorter walls throughout the Interactive Cook
House. Each photo links directly to the College Home Page it represents
- College
Eight, Cowell, Crown,
Kresge, Merrill,
Oakes, Porter,
and Stevenson. Soon, these
photos will be changed to three-screen slide shows with a number of different
views of the campus. |

In the second room
of the Cook house, a theme wall for Academic Departments links to the
home pages for UCSC's Graduate
Studies, Humanities, School
of Engineering, Natural Sciences,
Social Sciences and Arts
divisions. The other wall links to Campus resources such as the BayTree
Bookstore (with general, course books and UCSC publications), the
UCSC Library web
page (with McHenry
Library, the Science
Library and UC-wide Melvyl)
and CATS Computer and Technology
Services (with links to instructional
computing labs, computer support
center and academic courses
online).

Another
wall contains Educational Opportunities and Support which links to the following
pages: SOAR (student organization, advising
& resources), EOP (Educational Opportunity
Programs), Career Center,
International Programs,
The Disability Resource Center,
Housing Services, STARS(transfer
and reentry students services) and the Gateways
Program. Please notice that when you mouse over a sign, a box with its
description comes up. So visitors can read the wall even from across the
room. |

finally, a teleport from both inside and outside of the Interactive Cook
House will take you to the large map of the campus (still to be inserted
in the center tiled area). This will be easy to click onto the college of
your choice and teleport right there. This section also contains links to
