paper," a friend of mine
said as we sat at a bar
downing drafts. "They say
a study published in the
British medical journal
LANCET found that excessive
beer drinking doesn't kill
brain cells."

"Dammit," I said. "Now I'll
have to come up with another
excuse for my stupidity."

"Hey," he said. "Just tell
people you're a poet."
