The Wizard
The wizard is the knowledgeable, spell casting member of the hero crew. He tries to solve problems in a nonviolent/I'm-smarter-than-you way, and if he's caught off guard by an unexpected witticism, he always makes a quick recovery. And equiped with a wide range of well practiced spells, he can do things that the hardiest fighter or sneakiest thief could never do. In his spare time, the wizard practices mysterious faces in the mirror. The wizard's philosophy - If I can kill a monster with a flick of my finger, and not get guts on my shoes or betray my cool exterior, then all the better for me.
A wizard who isn't familiar with his spells is, well, a bad wizard. A misaimed force bolt can take out an eye and a poorly directed open spell can turn a man inside-out. Ewwwww.
