Capitola is a wonderful little
beach village just south of Santa Cruz. The town was pioneered in the late 1800's first
as a lumber port and later as a vacation resort.

Capitola's beach is situated between two cliffs in a river valley. The river, Soquel Creek,
is the site of the annual Begonia Festival where floats decorated with flowers parade down
the river for a weekend in September.
The Esplanade is a wonderful stroll in the village of
Capitola, along a row of restaurants, historic homes and small shops while taking in the
views of the Monterey Bay and the beach.

Capitola Village is a wonderful place to spend an afternoon browsing through the shops,
sitting on the deck of one of the restaurants and watching people on the beach.
