This is a one-of-a-kind book was calligraphed, illustrated and bound by Donna Thomas using Peter's handmade paper. The text is a new composition and is possibly the first haiku poem ever written in the Linear B language, an ancient syllabic script that was used for writing the earliest form of the Greek language. Linear B contains around 87 syllabic signs and 100 ideographic signs. The haiku is written out in Linear B and in modern Greek and English translations. The hand written text is accompanied by watercolors illustrations and decorations that take their inspiration from the Palace at Knossos. The book is full bound leather with a leather onlay of an inscribed leather “tablet” on the front cover. The book is housed in a clamshell box with an illustrated title panel on the front cover.
